1966 International Harvester 706 Gas
The IH 706 is an iconic tractor. Very powerful at 76 horsepower at the PTO (power take-off) and around 88 HP at the crank and weighing in around 10,000 pounds, this was a serious farm machine and is still highly sought-after as an all-around utility tractor. This one belongs to Ed Laura, a GD&T expert in the car business and a long-time friend. He bought it very rough and not running and restored the paint to it's current condition. Still needs front wheels done and a couple other details but it's otherwise ready for another 40 years of service. This tractor is in the field every day running disc cutters, round balers, pulling plows and disking fields. It's only downside is that it's big six cylinder engine is a gas hog. Competitors from this era sported four cylinder motors that made similar horsepower, if not as silky smooth, that used less fuel in either diesel or gas configuration.
